Onn Jaafar

Onn was born in 1895 at Johor Bahru, the capital of the Sultanate of Johore. His father Dato Jaafar Haji Muhammad was the first Menteri Besar of Johore while his mother, Hanim Rogayah was from Scarcia, Turkey.



Tun Hussien Onn


Hussein bin Dato' Onn (February 12, 1922—May 29, 1990) who is of 3/4 Malay and 1/4 Circassian ancestry was the third Prime Minister of Malaysia, ruling from 1976 to 1981. He was granted the soubriquet Bapa Perpaduan (Father of Unity). He was born in Johor Bahru, Johor on February 12, 1922 to Dato Onn Jaafar and Datin Halimah Hussein.


Tun Abdul Razak

Tun Abdul Razak was descended from a long line of Pahang chieftains of Bugis descent.[2][3] He was the brother in law of Tun Hussein Onn, his successor as Prime Minister.

Abdul Razak's eldest son, Najib Tun Razak, became the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia under Abdullah Badawi in 2004. He has four other sons, Datuk Ahmad Johari Razak, Mohamed Nizam, Mohamed Nazim and Mohamed Nazir.

Makassar, Nov 8 (ANTARA) - Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Mohd Najib bin Tun Abdul Razak is scheduled to attend the 7th Bugis Makassar traders meeting to be held here on Nov 11-13. Committee vice chairman Halim Kalla confirmed here Tuesday Najib, whose ancestors came from Bugis Makassar, would be present at the three-day event which will be opened by Indonesian Vice President Jusuf Kalla. Halim said Indonesian and foreign businessmen with roots in Bugis Makassar and now living in South Africa, Australia, Brunei Darussalam and China would attend the meeting of about 1,000 people. State Minister for State Enterprises Sugiharto, Trade Minister Mari E Pangestu, Transportation Minister Hatta Radjasa as well as Justice and Human Rights Minister Hamid Awaluddin will also take part in the meeting, Halim said. Halim said the meeting would aim to boost economic development in South Sulawesi in particular and in the eastern part of Indonesia in general. A small- and medium-scale product exhibition as well as tourism promotion will highlight the meeting, he said.


Tunku Abdul Rahman


Born in Istana Pelamin, Alor Star, Kedah, Abdul Rahman was the fourteenth son and twentieth child of Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah, the twenty-fourth Sultan of Kedah. His mother, Cik Menjalara, was the Sultan's sixth wife and the daughter of Siamese nobleman, Luang Naraborirak (Kleb), a Thai district officer (Nonthaburi Province) during the reign of King Rama V of Thailand.


Mahathir Mohamad

Mahathir was born on July 10, 1925, in Alor Star, the capital of the northern state of Kedah. Some stated that his father was a school teacher of part-Indian origin, specifically Malayalee (people who speak Malayalam not to be confused with Malay), whose father having migrated from the southern state of Kerala. However, the statement had never been confirmed in any official documents. While his mother was a Malay.



Abdullah Ahmad Badawi


Abdullah Badawi was born in Kepala Batas, Penang to a prominent religious family. His father, Ahmad Badawi, was a prominent religious figure and UMNO member. Badawi's paternal grandfather is Syeikh Abdullah Badawi Fahim whose one of the key person started Hizbul Muslimin later known as PAS, a famous nationalist and first mufti of Penang after Independence. His maternal grandfather, Ha Su-chiang (also known as Hassan), was a Chinese Muslim who came from Sanya in Hainan.
